This website explores the concept of learning, particularly regarding the interaction between biological and a sociocultural influences. To go about this, the modern understanding of the biological process of learning is first explained. The interaction between biological influences and surrounding environment towards producing preferred general learning styles is then addressed. The effects of culture and gender on smaller, specific aspects of the learning process are considered. Finally, a unique alternative explanation for the differences in preferred learning style is presented. Learning is a perplexing phenomenon, one which has intrigued the human species throughout its existence. The question is, what is it?
